Weather criteria are limitations you can set on WTGs and logistics. These criteria work alongside the weather files you add to your case to define the following:

Any PBA loss or asset downtime recorded as a result of weather criteria being exceeded are displayed in the weather downtime and weather downtime causes graphs and PBA root causes graph (O&M only) of your case's output page after you have run simulations. See our CON and O&M output dashboard pages for full details.

Add WTG operational criteria

This criterion only applies to floating WTGs. A WTG will stop producing power when this limit is exceeded.

  1. Open a Shoreline Design case.
  2. Click on the Build tab.
  3. Click on the Assets tab.
  4. Click on or add a WTG asset.
  5. Click on the Weather Criteria tab.
  6. Enter a value for the Significant wave height operational criteria.

  7. Click Save.

Add WTG maintenance limitations

Note: O&M only.

Create custom limitations on WTG assets and apply them to scheduled and corrective maintenance tasks. The tasks to which you apply these limitations can only be carried out when weather conditions are below all the limitations set.

  1. Open a Shoreline Design O&M case.
  2. Click on the Build tab.
  3. Click on the Assets tab.
  4. Click on or add a WTG asset.
  5. Click on the Weather Criteria tab.
  6. Under Limitations, click + Add entry.
  7. Enter the required values.

The limitations you create here appear as options when creating or editing scheduled and corrective maintenance tasks on the same asset.

Add logistic operational criteria

Add weather criteria to any process step on major logistics (HLV, CIV, TV, crane, AHV, feeder, CoTV) to determine the logistic’s operating conditions.

  1. Open a Shoreline Design case.
  2. Click on the Build tab.
  3. Click on the Logistics tab.
  4. Click on or create the required logistic.
  5. Click on the Processes tab.
  6. Select the relevant process and step.
  7. Set the required criteria:
    • Wind speed
    • Wind speed reference height
    • Significant wave height

  8. Click Save.

Add logistic access limits

Set access limits on transfer logistics (CTV, SOV, heli, DV) to determine the conditions under which the logistic can approach, access, and transfer personnel on to assets.

  1. Open a Shoreline Design case.
  2. Click on the Build tab.
  3. Click on the Logistics tab.
  4. Click on or create the required logistic.
  5. Click on the Weather Criteria tab.
  6. Set the required criteria.
  7. Click Save.
