Create working hours and date restrictions to define the time during which vessels cannot operate. Create time restrictions and apply the restrictions to the relevant logistics all within the Logistics tab of your cases.

Restrictions can apply for a variety of reasons, for example:

  • Whale migrations
  • Local laws
  • Logistical or personnel limitations

You can set restrictions at any granularity:

  • Hours within a day or week
  • Certain days of the week
  • Entire weeks or months

How time restrictions work

Time restrictions using the time range option have the following criteria:

  • Time ranges can overlap.
  • For restrictions that last until the end of the day, apply the restriction to 00:00, e.g., a restriction set on Sunday from 18:00–00:00 allows work to begin at 00:00 on Monday morning.
  • Restriction ranges that span midnight affect the following day, even if that day is not included in the weekdays or date range select. For example:
    • Settings:
      • Date range: August 3–5.
      • Time range: 20:00–06:00.
    • Result:
      • Restriction applies until 06:00 on August 6.

You can apply multiple time restrictions (and types) and they can overlap:

  • Use case:
    • Work is restricted every weeknight and all weekend.
  • Settings:
    • Restriction 1:
      • Weekly, time range:
        • 20:00–06:00
        • Monday–Friday
    • Restriction 2:
      • Weekly, all-day:
        • Saturday and Sunday
  • Result:
    • Work begins Monday morning at 06:00.
    • Work stops every weeknight 20:00–06:00.
    • Work stops at 20:00 on Fridays.
    • Work stops all weekend.
